Welcome to our annual Backgammon Tournament!
This short guide will help you understand how everything works from start to finish. Good luck in your games!
Step 1: Registration
- First of all - we start with Entry Fee. it is 75dkk per player. Please, send it via MobilePay to +45 50398016 (Marek P.). Once it is done - go forward.
- In case you dont have MobilePay or want another payment method - mention it in private comment for admin (2 steps further).
- Here we go. Click the "Sign Up" button.
- In the form that opens, enter your name and at Least first letter of surname. if you wish, a short comment (visible to everyone) or private to admin.
- After submitting your application, wait for admin approval. You can see yourself in the list of approved participants by clicking the "Participants" button.
- Important: Keep an eye on the "Registration Closes In:" timer! Registration button deactivates after this date.
Step 2: Group Stage Begins!
- Once registration is complete and all participants are approved, the administrator will form groups, automatically and randomly.
- To see your group and opponents, go to the "tournament page". from that moment all the action happens on that page.
- On the tournament page, find the "Groups" section. All groups and their members will be listed there.
Step 3: Playing Your Group Matches
- You will need to play against each player in your group.
- Games are played to 11 points (standard backgammon rules).
- Check the "rules" section, to see general and advanced rules we use for this tournament
- You can play online, if cannot meet opponent in staff. Link for online game is on tournament page.
- Important: Pay attention to the "Group Stage Ends In:" timer on the tournament page! All group stage matches must be completed and their results submitted before this time expires. "submit score" button deactivates after this date
Step 4: Submitting Match Scores (Group Stage)
- After each game is played, one of the players should submit its final result.
- To do this, go to the tournament page and click the green "Submit Match Score" button.
- In the window that appears:
- Enter your name (exactly as you registered).
- Select your group from the list.
- Select the match you played from the list (e.g., "You vs Opponent's Name").
- Enter the score (Your Score - Opponent's Score). Remember, there are no draws.
- Click "Submit for Review".
- The administrator will review and approve the submitted score. Once approved, it will appear in your group's match list, and the group standings will be updated.
Step 5: Group Standings & Tie-Breakers
- The tournament standings for each group are updated automatically after match results are approved.
- Places in the group are determined by the following criteria (in order of priority):
- Points (PTS): 1 point for a win.
- Head-to-Head Result (H2H): If two players have an equal number of points, the winner of their direct match will be ranked higher.
- Score Difference: The total points difference in all matches played.
- On the tournament page, you will see a preliminary highlighting of the Top players in each group – these are the current likely candidates to advance to the playoffs.
- Winners of the groups will play agains runners-up of other groups, like standart rules in big sports.
- Important: The final list of players advancing to the playoffs (16 players: group winners + the best players from other places based on overall performance compared through all the groups) will be generated automatically by the administrator after all group stage games are completed.
Step 6: Advancing to Playoffs
- Players who advance from the group stage will enter the playoff bracket.
- The playoffs are single elimination: 1/8 Finals, Quarterfinals, Semifinals, 3rd Place Match, and Final.
- Check the "Playoffs" page for your matches.
- Submit playoff match scores using the "Submit Score" button on the "Playoffs" page in the same way it was on group stage.
